Description
Summary:In this article, I reflect on what spirituality can mean and I propose to add a spiritual stance as a dimension to the psychotherapy domain. It is the professional's choice to address this dimension or not, but more and more clients at the encounter are asking if the clinician is walking a spiritual path. I then suggest some processes that might enhance this dimension and that may introduce a respectful stance. We have been taught that systemic psychotherapy should be process‐focused, evolving, and ethical. I assume the ethical proposal of my mentor Heinz von Foerster: ‘Act always in order to enhance the number of your and other people's choices.’
