Summary: | On-site drying power transformer is becoming a habitual process for transformer reparation, refurbishment, reassembly, or maintenance. However, papers reporting existing drying methods in practice admit that those are the alternatives to vapor phase drying (VPD) in workshop. This letter introduces a new drying method that can fulfill VPD of power transformer at site. This letter also presents the drying performances of the new technology with same results of stationary VPD plant. A case is also shared briefly that 2 units of 1230 MVA/750 kV power transformers were dried both in workshop and in field. |
